Children on the Move

On 26 December, Ali (centre) and his children carry boxes of winter clothing from UNICEF back to their tent in Tikrit's Al Alam Camp.

With recent conflict in the Middle-East an increasing share of new groups of migrants and refugees are seeking a better life by fleeing their home countries. This AwarenessWednesday we aim to give special attention to the fact that more aid needs to be provided for these people. Reports made by Unicef in 2018 have shown that almost 40% of young migrants and refugees received little to no help. Despite many efforts more aid has to be provided to people in need.

Many of these young migrants can be the new workforce who can contribute to great innovations, create jobs and be the pillars of families and communities around the world. Giving them the foundation to flourish such as a new home, education, health care and protection is an investment that will build their future and the future of countries all around the world. So now it is time to take actions, protect young migrants and secure their rights.
